Location: Humberside Airport is situated at in the Borough of North Lincolnshire, England in a place called Kirmington, 10 nm (19 km; 12 mi) which is west of Grimsby and around 15 mi (24 km) from both Kingston upon Hull and Scunthorpe.
History: The airport used to be a Royal Air Force base, RAF Kirmington, it opened in 1941 which was during World War II, No. 166 Squadron RAF operated the Avro Lancaster. After the war the site was left abandoned, and lay unused until 1974 when the local council re-opened the site as Kirmington Airport
